Carol Brown, Director

Welcome to the Girls Ministries Web Site!

School is back in session!  Fall is in the air.  It is the time to get ready for winter and the exhilarating changes the weather will bring to us.  Do you feel sorry for those who live in climates where there is no snow?  I do!  The snow is so beautiful!  But that is a little later in coming.  Right now we have things to catch up on and books to read and study.  I am sure that the learning you are getting will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life.

It is like that with the training you are getting through Girls Ministries.  God is doing some great things in our lives as we read and study His word.  He will work in our lives and desires to do so.  Have you reached another goal in your life?  Maybe you have made a milestone.  As we mark our progress we will have the joy of knowing that we have accomplished great and mighty things for God.  You may say, “What great things or mighty things have we accomplished for God?” There is nothing greater than seeing a soul won to Jesus Christ!  There is no greater accomplishment than guiding a child toward a life of dedication to God.  There is no mightier task than reaching the lost and seeing then delivered from a life of sin!

Leaders and young women, you are these leaders!  You are the individuals who are out there on the front lines day by day meeting each child where they are and making a difference in those lives.  Keep up the good and wonderful work of God!  Please know, that you, as well and the children you lead, are all “Lives in the Making"cbrown@somoag.org

There is an exciting new training session coming your way.  It is the National Children’s Ministries joining the National Girls Ministries, BGMC, Royal Rangers and Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, to bring you a conference in St Louis Mo.  The dates are March 1-5, 2009.  Follow the link below to see more information on this great conference.

What a Day!  Our Annual District Girls Ministries Celebration is now history.

Oh, what an awesome day!

Our theme was “Lives in the Making.”

We had 66 participants who had reached their Honor level?  The event was held at Northside Assembly of God on Oct 3rd.

Thank you for participating in this great event.

The young ladies and Rainbow boys who participated had a great time. It was a beautiful ceremony with banners of each club level and the Mpact and TGM banners displayed.

Thank you to the Church for allowing us to use their columns!  The lights and tulle made it just right.  The ladies cooked a delicious meal and served it to those who chose to participate in that.  It may cost a little more next year but it was well worth the money and it helps our department since we are the ones who prepare and serve it.  I trust you can be a part of that next year if Jesus should tarry.  I was so proud of all of the people who worked so hard to make this happen for the girls and boys.

I am still receiving charters.  You are to be commended.  Thank you!  We have several churches that have turned theirs in.  The quarterly reports are coming in.  The tithes and offerings that come in with these are the way we fund our District activities.  They let us know just what kind of progress you are making!  And progress is what is happening.  We praise God for the reports coming in.  Please pray with us for God to multiply the funds to meet the needs.  God bless you for all that you do!

If you have a special event or activity in or with your group send us an article and maybe even a picture!  We want to publish your news in the Messenger.

We are still working on our project for 2009.  It is for the Koro Gocho Children's Church for a concrete floor. This is in Nairobi, Kenya. One little girl wants to raise enough for carpet too!  God, please, bless these children and their faith in you!

We will send the money in December so raise your funds and

get it to the District Girls Ministries Department by Dec 15th.

Please, mark it for the Girls Ministries project.

Are you looking for a fun idea for your Teen Girls Ministries?

One of our Sectional Reps, Diana Brower, had a special event with her friends and Girls Only.  She did a “Treasure Hunt for the Treasure Chest.”

She combined the idea of a progressive dinner and a Scavenger hunt and had the girls search for items that had been donate to the Treasure chest just for this night.

During the national Sleepover this was their fun time activity.

They had 27 young ladies participate and about 50 items donated.

It is reported that they had a blast

and are looking forward to next year being bigger and better.

They got a lot better acquainted with the different people

from the church who were participants also.

The girls learned about what Missionaries need.

The Treasure Chest is an outreach ministry for Missionaries to help supply them with items they would normally have to purchase.  In our giving to the Treasure Chest we help them reduce what they have to spend out of pocket for many household item we take for granted.  The Missionaries can shop for free at this “commissary” like room.

There are testimonies to numerous to mention as to how blessed

our Missionaries are by our providing these items.

Thank you, Women’s Ministries, for providing us with this

opportunity to give and bless the Missionaries.

Treasure Chest is a WM project.
