Since 1995, the National Sunday School Office has awarded the Billie Davis Award for Excellence in Christian Education to Sunday School teachers who faithfully contribute to a high standard of discipleship as they teach God’s Word to God’s people in Sunday School. The Southern Missouri District is proud to announce the 2009 Teacher of the Year... Matthew Lee Matt teaches at Steelville First Assembly of God Church under the leadership of Pastor Jerry Beers. Here is what Elizabeth Dunn, Sunday School Superintendent wrote about Matt. "He is the teacher of Homes of Honor Class. He also is the Senior Commander of the Royal Ranger program. I feel he is deserving of the Billie Davis Award." He is involved in many aspects of ministry including praise and worship, US missions trips, and World Missions.
